Since the last one was moved for one of the following reasons: Trolling, Price, not being positive etc etc, i have reopend a non trolling, price free and positive post. Someone who wants to remain nameless has stated that in a "few" weeks HK will open up the AU warehouse to warranty returns. This is good news and i'm sure there will be many people who will be happy to read this news. Ian

I would be delighted to be able to return my warranties at a realistic price.
This would be a positive step in the right direction

This will be run as a pilot study. During which time we will be carefully monitoring the items returned. Remember, our markup on the products you purchased from HK included the warranty cost for repairing/replacing the item in China (Staff salary etc).
Its VERY expensive for us to run a warranty service in Australia. If too many items come back to us, or customers abuse the system, we may need to close or restrict the items accepted in the Aus center. We ran a similar system in America 4yrs earlier and recieved a massive amount of stock back, so much so that we had to close the system down. We found that customers took the attitude "I broke it, but lets see if I can get it replaced" and sent it back to us anyway because shipping was cheap.
The administration costs in handling those items was too high, and we have to close the service down 6 weeks after opening.
The Aus warehouse will have restrictions in place to try to curb the amount of warranty abuse.
Also, where possible items will be repaired and if broken by the customer billed accordingly.
As you can see, the admin costs will be high. I'm guessing this will eventually lead to price increases.

That's great news.....
Australians are pretty honest people, and i cant really see a problem with batteries. I Think you need to have a good look in your own back yard Jason and a lot of these returns wouldn't happen if you had better quality control especially with batteries, I and my freinds buy a lot of batteries and recently we have had many with dead cells, obviously they are not being checked on shipping as per your own FAQ @ this link http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbyking/store/lipo_policy.html Now through no fault of my own i brought batteries of you in good faith and am now forced to send them back to china at a significant cost to me, this achieves one thing a unhappy customer. I would be happy to pay a little more on items for an Australian warranty centre. peace |

It's too easy to break them, and when they break it's very similar to being 'faulty'.
Faulty batteries are easy to support.
