Wrong!

First of all this was the first steering arms I broke in about 3 hours hard driving.

Second, I'll take the original AR Racing ones, so those steering arms only will brake when there is a severe risk of bending the fork ...

Glad to hear that. This really is an amazing bike for that price.

I need some help with the motor.

The standard motor that came with the kit on mine died after 2 hours of beating. The magnetism on the rotor is almost zero. Ran it with a Castle Creation Mamba Max ESC.

On the HK website it says the motor is rated at 2100KV. So the closest motor to the KV rating was a 17.5T. With it mounted on the bike bench testing at full throttle it definitely does not sound like it is as fast as the kit motor.

So changed it with a 13.5T. Did the same test and sounded slightly better but not there yet. Finally fitted a 11.5T and it sounded a lot closer. But on the field test the power was way below the kit motor. BTW the 17.5T, 13.5T and 11.5T motors are Speedpassion 1/10 rc car motors.

The interesting bit is that 11.5T motors usually produces about 3300KV which brings the question about the true KV rating of the kit motor.

Right now I have fitted a Castle Creations CM36 4600KV motor. Not sure if will do the job well or too much.

In the earlier posts on the older thread, the KD-36-60-08L BL motor was used. Anyone can confirm if the power was comparable with the kit motor or better?

Please read the whole thread!

The KD-36-60-08L BL motor has about twice the power as the stock motor! Look at the diagrams.

The motors you used are ment to be used in 1:10 scale cars. Those cars have about half the weight of the QRF400 bike => those motors don't have enough torque and are running inefficiently.  A 5.5T or lower motor should do the job, but what the heck. Just take die KD motor. It's perfect for the QRF400.

Once more I would like to mention B36 motor:
http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=6527
coupled with this pinion
http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=8998

I'm running this setup and must admit it is a real kick ass package and has a great p/p (price/perf) rating.

Btw it has been previously mentioned (I'm sure in the other qrf thread) that the stock motor has around 2800kv..

Thanks. I have added them in my order. Looking forward to test them.

NP welcome!
Note that you will have to machine the groove (for the pinion grub screw) on the b36 shaft by yourself cause it comes without (end of the shaft is round).

Just order the AR chain from here: http://www.hobbydaddy.com/shop/index.php?cPath=378_379&&page=2

As for the swing arm shaft , use this: (You will break your swing arm if you break this bolt)
