I would think it is -- why copy an ASP?

They're a very strong motor (they like small props -- I run a 10x7) but they're nowhere near the design or construction quality of OS or Thunder Tiger.

The carburetors are (how shall I put this... *crap*).  On my first ASP52A, one of the screws that retains the carby fell out and that produced a deadstick.

On *both* my 52s, the needle valves leak air which makes them very hard to set and just this past Sunday, I had to land and reset the needle three times in one flight because it was unscrewing and making the engine run rich -- despite the little spring-steel arm engaging firmly in the needle-valve knurling.

If I were going to copy an engine -- I'd copy the OS46AX or the TT46Pro -- *not* the ASP52.

For the price, you will not find a better engine. ASP, Magnum, SC are all the same. Great little engines. Buy 2 for the price of an OS.
