Just saw that ZIPPY Flightmax batterys give max charge rate 2C. I recently bought my 2650mah 6S 30C packs and didnt notice it then. How do i know that are my cells rated max 2C charge? As in label it says never exceed 1C charge current.

If it says on the label to charge at 1C max, then it isn't a 2C charge rate no matter what you've heard or read. There may be some Zippys with a charge rate of 2C, but yours is not one of them. If it was, it would say so.

Its not flightmax packs that are 2C charge - its the OEM packs that HC are selling that are.

No There are new Flightmax battery packs that have a new label stating as the max charge rate is 2C. My understanding is that all of the batteries will eventually have this rating, but as of now only the labeled packs can be thought of being capable. Al |

As Jason stated, nothing changed, they always could be charged at 2C. You will loose some cycles, though. They start to print 2C on the cells, as many competitors do so now... But it is still the same cells.

Smeagle is correct cells are the same, any cell can be fast charged if you like. Even the Polyquest 2C and Hyperion 5C packs claim on their web sites they can be charged that high however a 1C charge rate is still best to give you more cycles from the packs.

So ALL zippy packs can be charged at 2C? I bought the 2200mAh 20C packs (about a month before they where labelled Flightmax). Dont remember reading the charge rate but is it safe to charge at 4.4A? (even at the moment i charge at 2A so im not going to go anywhere near 4.4!!)
Take care, Demon |
