    Posted: 28/Jul/2010 at 3:28am
Hello all,

after I killed my first RP6D1 receiver with too much water in my water plane, I ordered now a second one. Now I try to set it up, as I did it with the old one, but this behaves completely different and not how it is described in the manual.

When I power it up, the LED blinks twice and goes off- as it should for a not set up receiver

Then I press the set button for 2sec. The LED blinks three times as it should.

Then the LED should blink through all the tree modes, but mine only blinks twice and then remains dark. Nothing that is described in the manual.

If I try it again, and play around, I sometimes make it that the LED blinks very fast receiver is searching for the transmitter. This takes some times and when the search is finished (manual sais the LED should either be lit for OK or go dark if it was not OK) the LED starts blinking. This can only be switched off by unpluging the power.

Has someone an idea what could be the problem?

Thanks

Markus

Hi Markus,

I had the same problem you are having excipt I have the JR CR8D and from a bit of adivce from the forum I just moved away from the reciever by about 2mts and it binded,

Yipeeee!!!!!!

I think Tx and Rx have to have a little bit of distance between them to bind,

Give it a try....I hope it works for you...

Hello Goose,

sorry didn't help. Same problem. But it seems not to be a locking problem, as also the blinking structure doesn't do as it should. But thanks anyway. I'm in contact with the support now. Lets see what they say.

I also had same kind of problem with that reciever.

Check this link and search for Steve boks. Its an amazing story. But for my reciever it solved the problem.

Fix for locking issue

To fix the locking problem where it refuses to lock, or only locks when cold or hot:
1 Locate the receiver crystal. Metal case of the crystal: SZJF 11.1550
2 Grab a hot soldering iron and a little solder.
3 Apply a little solder ontop of the crystal.

What this actually does is create a thermal cycle through the crystal. It looks like this crystal has been hand soldered and never had a thermal cycle.

This fixed my problem.
