Audio works fine, still shots work fine. But when I play back video files in windows media player, I get no video. I have seen others with this issue and they downloaded VLC player, but I want to upload the videos to youtube. How do I get it to play in WMP?

Hi!
Windows Media Player did not play for me either (for me video was not played, audio worked). Anyhow I prefer to use SMPlayer, a freeware player that includes mplayer as a powerful decoder engine. Quite good, it plays "everything" and the user interface is much friendlier than VLC Player. I would recommend to try that player. |

And you can. Windows mediaplayer is just an annoying git when it comes to playback.
It has barely any good socalled "codecs" of its own, unlike VLC and MPC classic which have entire libraries of them built right in. If you can see it in VLC or something like it, you can upload it and youtube will deal with it. ;) |

Go to here http://ffdshow-tryout.sourceforge.net/ and download the program, install it and your videos will now play on windows media player.
The reason this camera's vids wont play on WMP s because it's using a codec not in WMP which is Xvid. Installing this ffdshow will fix this problem with the codec.

At first I could not play the videos from the Turnigy Keychain Camera TD16CC , the Windows Media Player would come up with an assortment of different test patterns but no video.
I found I had another program that would display the video.
So I searched the web for the problem and I found a program that would install add-ons into Windows media Player called K-Lite Codec Pack (search with Google for it) to fix this.
I installed the full version, it is free and the video now works well.
I hope this helps others. If so, let me know.

windows media doesnt work for me either, but vlc worked fine. think its just a problem with the image in media player, as sound worked, but not image. the same files would play with the image in vlc.

The HK keychain camera uses mpeg4 (H264) video encoding and there is no mpeg4 decoder supplied as a standard part of Windows so the video doesn't appear (but the sound does).
As others have suggested, VLC is one alternative or you can use one of the mpeg4 codecs that are available on the Net. |
