Guys: I could really use some tips on placement of the receiver, ESC, and battery in this canopy. It is much narrower than my ES Cessna 182. What receiver are you using? I had hoped to use my HK-T6A-V2, but I don't know if its gonna fit!

Hi there Allison, I'm new to this hobby. And this is my second little plane. My first one was from the same manufacturer which was the easysky micro cesnna 182 which was heaps easier to fly and way more stable. I'm using the exact stock config 2s 500 mah turnigy. I have tried to put in a 460 mah nanotech but it still the same. As soon the plane take off up about 3 to 4 meters high the plane just spin out and flip to one side.
Maumy is it to the same side??? Have you tried a hand launch? Are you at full speed?? I have had the problem on take off from the ground. But when I hand launched it was not there. If it is the same then try holding plane on ground. Go to full speed holding her back and then let go. this should reduce any prop torque effect. I hope this helps
Manmay you will have to give me a few more details.
So what RC gear. Have you connected the Ailerons. Have you set CoG. Are you using a Lipo battery. Are you a Newbie. Does the plane fly straight when you launch. When you turn us you Ailerons to bank then a little up elevator to complete the turn. This is much better then rudder because you can get leading wing tip stall.
Sally there are many J3 around. In fact you can find about 6 different types of J3 at hobby King alone. This one does not have ailerons and only a couple do. This is a small one hence MIRCO in the name. But is a nice model.
you awarded a credit to a customer that gave out wrong info, they said this plane does not have ailerons,in fact it does have ailerons, it is a four channle plane.
and your point is evan?.... sally gave credit to a correct answer not an incorrect one plus at least kellyann took the time to correct herself unlike some on here that give false info on purpose
Sir yes it is very much the same. BUT the one you refer to comes RTF (Ready to fly) the one for sale here requires you supply Your own Tx/Rx 2s 7.4V 500mAh Lipoly Battery. I hope this helps.
Hi, Maumy. I have this plane and still enjoying flying it even after around 50 flights already. I had the same problem but not until i added weights inside the cowl of this plane. This plane is tail heavy and very impossible to fly with a beginner. Add weights (coins) inside the cowl until CoG is reached and you will be as happy as a bird flying.
Turned out to be jigs with thee receiver.
Anyways, i see why people are having a hard time getting this thing up in the air, there's barely any place inside for the battery and rx.
My advice- get one of the dsm2 micro 4ch rx410, www.link save you a lot of trouble.
We want warbirds ww1 1:8 and ww2 1:12 in the german warehouse. I think everybody has a cub already, if needed. Even me has an easycub from mpx. But please stock NTM and DYS Motors and Turnigy Trust esc's in the german warehouse! They are needed!
YEA NO MORE CUBS OR MUSTANGS. How about edf models like a F100 ,something differant NOT AN F86 . Yea like a something WW2 ME109 OR OR A 110 OR DORNIER 335 WOULD BE GREAT. we DONT WANT CUBS ANYMORE AT LEAST IM SICK OF THEM.
Haha, only the no-idea factory owners will develop these models. If you don't like them, don't buy them. All models under HobbyKing's control or made by us are unique to the market.
YouTube search "micro j3 super cub". The description here fails to mention the unique motor mount that uses springs to reduce the likelihood of damage on impact (same as the micro cessna, both by EasySky).
I too have a ARF Cub, a scratchbuild Cessna 182 and a Scratchbuilt Mustang already. Come on HK, Stock More New Warbirds like you already have stocked B25J. Airliners like Airbus's and Boeing's are also good option to step forward.
BTW I am going to add this one in cart for my younger brother who is new in R/C.
HobbyKing, will you offer a kit version ?
I have all the gear (motor, ESC, battery, etc.) and would love to get just the airframe.

Nice plane, nice idea for the motor mount, but : esc burnt 10 sec after i plugged it. Manual (a single side A4 photocopy) is in german, and for an other plane, impossible to use. I already have the same's brand (easysky) cesna 182, wich flights perfectly.
Glue already dry in its tube. Unusable.
Will tell more when i'll maiden it.
Don't know where must be the cog. nothing is mentionned in the manual.

I love this plane!
I have 10 flights with it and it flies really well (both slow and docile as fast and agile), but you have to tinker a bit with it before it flies well. I fly it with both 350mah and 500mah (I prefer the 350mah). The plane is sturdy has survived a lot of abuse (even a 90 degrees nose down crash from 10 meters). I have ordered another one (for a rebuild with lighter servo's and flaps)
I wouldn't fly it straight ouf of the box though, as it has some issues.
The Esc is a write-off Hence only 3 stars for quality). Mine was getting hot. Made some extra cooling holes in the engine cowling but that didn't help. On the 4th dry-run it popped. I replaced it with a Turnigy 12A.
I changed the strut assembly (you really need the struts when doing acro), Aileron linkage, Esc location, wheels and added a fake engine (cosmetics).
See the pictures in the files section.
Things I changed:
- Removed the weights in the front og the fuselage (9 grams) and glued 2 grams in front of the cowling.
- Fastened the Esc on coctail-sticks and glued it in the place of the weights, so that it would be positioned in the cowling. (replaced it later with a turnigy 12A)
- Replaced the wheels (total 2 grams) with bigger wheels (12 grams).
- Changed strut assembly, so that it could be usscrewed and detached.
- Used a longer tube for the linkage of the ailerons, for better control.
- Created more air-holes and a fake engine (I don't like the engine-decal)
- After a few flights it had a tip-stall (pilot-error), so took some measures to reduce this.
Data and setup after the changes:
- Weight 149 grams without battery and receiver.
- Receiver 9 grams, 350mah lipo 21 grams, 500 mah lipo 30 grams.
- Flying weight between 179 and 188 grams.
- CG at 30mm from leading edge.
- Engine 3 degrees side-trust and 4.5 degrees right-trust.
- Ailerons 90pcnt dual-rate and 20pcnt expo.
- Elevator 120pcnt dual-rate
