how does this have 5 star rating with so many bad reviews?
 srepfler 1143 points
I used on EPP FPV works nice, used on big delta wing works fine, strong and durable, like them. When people like them they do not put good review when it is not working they put bad review.
scotts  8 points - 12/9/2012

When people buy servos. I notice the first thing they do is check to see if the servo works by hand. This is a bad thing on these little servo's those gears are easy to strip.
claudio Kleber Ferreira  7 points - 12/4/2012

MUito bom servos, uso em Zag,pequenos aeromodelos eletricos, e a combustao, very nice.

does someone no what brand spline this has so i can buy replacement or extra long arms?
 Rick662u 20 points
Hitec hs-65 arms will fit. Push down and use the screw. It is fine.
 worsone 60 points
i have tried the hitec hs -65 arms and could not get them to fit the best thing you can do is take the servo to your local hobby shop and test to see what would fit
toki891  1 points - 4/29/2012

HOW can this servo have a 5 crown rating when all of the reviews are so bad???
 h2ojoao 27 points
The best servo I've ever used. Excellent for 3D.
 luisloko 20 points
used these servos on zaguis wings are very good, even reaching a speed of 180km / h work very well!
 srepfler 1143 points
Not all want to write review, this servos are excellent, extremely strong, price is best buy. Only complaint is noise ( you hear them). Highly recommend. Use them on EPP FPV ailerons, flying wing...
 worsone 60 points
Hi bud I also have them and I have 3 more on the way for what I use them they are a lot better that the blue hxt 500 and 900g servos I have lost a plane and a heli on the blue one`s because the servo horn slipped on these it does not happen and I am happy this is not a savox or align servo but so far for me they are better than the blue hxt hope this helps

Hi! Where can I find a servo case for this one? Thanks
 dman3536 14 points
I would just order a replacement one there extremely cheap couldn't hurt to have extras
 Wieslaw 7 points
Good quality product for use in the t-rex, copterx and other 450, for me is about
 captincopter 7 points
for the exellent price of this servo, i personaly would purchase a new servo and keep the damaged for spares
__Rman  80 points - 6/29/2011

What is the current (ampere) this servo use?
I cant find a datasheet of the mg 14 servo.
 merlind 15 points
No-load about 30mA, with load around 100mA
 Agulhare 9 points
u can use up to 800mA from 3000mA, will depend on your battery. I hope it helped
somchai6813  170 points - 6/22/2011

Does it fit well to HK250GT frame?
 cocopl 52 points
yes , its the same case type like 9g hxt900 .
 Steemo 22 points
No they don't fit, they are too long on the "F" dimension as per above diagram. Aileron and Elevator fit fine but the elevator servo sticks out so far that you can not secure the canopy at all.
boingk  265 points - 5/22/2011

How the hell do these have a 5 star rating when all the top rated reviews show them to be an unreliable servo? Come one!
 TaMaster 24 points
Don`t listen to these bad reviewer , me and all my club friends are using these on many 'heavy' EPO models and they work great!

I have replaced the more expensive Hitec servos with the MG14 and they have worked flawlessly, I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone needing a servos of this type and size.
 Gustavo 18 points
Im using this servo on my HK 450 tail, and its never fail.
 vasy1 607 points
Cuz they rule. I have not had any failires outside bad crashes. They just sing more compare to hxt900.
 boingk 265 points
Cheers everyone, glad to hear they're going well for you. Gives me a bit more confidence in ordering some. TaMaster, you got in first so you get the credit.
 merlind 15 points
Im using this servo on my HK 450 tail, and its never fail.
 jbc1234567 502 points
I use these quite alot, for elevator and rudder and never had one fail on me yet. Fast response and centre well, what more do you need?
 DANIEL 3 points
ive used these of sebart angel 30e, PA addiction which are large models. I have loads of throws on control surfaces and never had a problem.
These perform better than hitec hs-65 mg servos and a fifth of the price
 fiberglasser 32 points
I haven't had a bad one yet. These are perfect for any 450 heli. They are fast, tight and have plenty of torque. Plus you can't beat the price!
 C.C.Rid3r 12 points
I use this servo on Reactor bipe Electrifly , runs very well .Nice servo.
 Overfill 144 points
China! Thats why a product have a 5 crowns review when no one give it five crowns. I have write so many things they have delete.
Hakan  1 points - 12/2/2010

i'm planing to use one of them in my solar car how many amps does it needs for 4.8v and 6v.
 volto 41 points
Amps depend on how much load you put on them. Keep the load minimal and these will take very little, probably a tenth of an amp while moving. Less amperage is needed for higher voltage. Although metal gear would be a waste of weight compared with nylon for low torque applications.
 merlind 15 points
The current drain depends on the mechanical load that you have it and of the voltage of nutrition. in any case open a minimal current of consumption in vacuum ( no-load

Anyone used these in a Blade 400 for cyclic? Or would the HXT900 be more suitable?
 st200ol 258 points
One of the reviewers is using them on a Blade 400, and awards them 5 stars. I have a HK450 and I use them with no problems. Great servo.

 BillH 54 points
I used them on an Hk-450 pro and they work just fine, so they should be great on a Blade 400
 BillH 54 points
I am using it on a trex 450 v2 which is basically the same.
 symowallo 187 points
I am now running them on my HK/trex 450 v2 and have ordered more for my Blade 400. Very happy with them.

Will theese servos fit HK-450GT?
 DrAce 115 points
Yes, they will work perfectly!
 ilkayyy 39 points
Yes, it fits for 450sizes helis
 BillH 54 points
Yes. I am using them and they have great speed and torque.
 65stang 3 points
work very well and fit good no spacer.just plug and play on the hk 450. take crashes well very good centering.

Hello! Can someone who has the servo on hand tell me what is the distance between the end holes of the double-sided servo horn (the one in the middle on the picture). I think HXT900's is ~30mm and would be interested if this one is more. I'm aware the horns are not interchangeable. Thank you!
 magnusEl 1238 points
It is ~30mm on the horn in the middle, the horn to the left is ~32mm.

Is there a way to convert these servos to retract types i.e 180 degree? I know some servos can be converted using a couple of resistors.
 skyline_g35 131 points
You can use any servo for retracts. Just change the end points in your Tx.
dude75  28 points - 5/14/2010

Hi, is there somewhere the possibility to buy servo horn replacement?
Thanks.
 st200ol 258 points
Iam not sure but for $7.69 I just got a couple extra to use for spares.
mehmedean  14 points - 4/5/2010

The holes on arms are of 1mm. Where can I purchase 1mm pushrod set? It should be at least 40 cm long for my plane...
 vanderlei 179 points
otimo srvo estou usando no hk 450 e responde muito bem no ciclico...
 Tatnorway 61 points
Maybe you can buy pushrod set for a helicopter?
 magnusEl 1238 points
I used a drill and opend up the holes to right size, maybe that is someting you could try?

What Servo Arms Fit This Servo? I Have A Stryker That I Am Putting These Into. The Arms Have To Be Longer. Thanks
EIN ENGEL  32 points - 2/9/2010

Question for owners: does it have any slope, or play in output gear? I bought some HXT small servo with metal gear, and all of them had play, so low precision on head of 450 heli.
 Jeff B 148 points
I have 30 of these MG14 in aircraft from 44' to 49" and there is no slop what so ever in them. I do wish alternative arms were available.
 mattyhawk 232 points
I would agree with Jeff, mostly. Realistically, they are sloppy compared to other higher quality, but for pattern plane use, they are very good. I use these in my nitro / gas planes as throttle servos, and work perfect. I also have them in my 115 mph MPX Funjet as well as landing gear servos in my HL SU-34 Twin TV EDF. I just wouldn't use them for 3D.
 mattyhawk 232 points
Oh, and I would NOT use them on a Heli.
 Demon 197 points
Really? I would... and Do. They are excellent servo's on the Swash of a heli, No chatter, no slop, crisp and accurate movement. - Perfect Swash servo's.

* Demon - The newer ones must be better. Mine do have slop in them, but they are getting quite used. I think I have had some of these for over a year with more fights than I can count.

What size is the servo horn screw?

 Old Stone 314 points
gerade die naechsten zwei Hextronic MG-14 bestellt. Mein Bekannter war von der Leistung ueberzeugt und wollte unbedingt auch welche fuer seinen Eigenbaujet

out of stock so fast...
no wonder it's a good servo
 Spoof boy 112 points
Sure is, especially for its size, load and price.
rsieminski  123 points - 10/7/2009

Has anyone found them to jitter at 6V? Mine jitter really noticeably. If you move the stick and move it back, sometimes you can get them to stop.
Ferdy  34 points - 9/20/2009

Fast, strong and very precise centering. And that for a unbeatable price. I use them in both a King V2 and a T-Rex and despite a number of crashes they still function flawless.
Way to go HobbyKing.
worldedit  107 points - 8/10/2009

How much travel do they make at 100% on the transmitter?

I use this servo on my flasher450 heli (trexv2 rip off) cyclic. I need to open the back case of the servo to fit into the servo tray. It fit alright. centering with no problem and this servo is full metal gear and with bearing too. (i open up the case). Servo movement seems solid. Servo arm is strong.

I've just received 3 of them, they work well with 5 and 6 volts and a multiplex receiver.
The real weight is 15,0 grams.
Are strong and presise and i don't detect any problem with centering.
They are very well finished.

Good servo

2 thumbs up!
Over all this is a great servo. It has more torque than the HXT900 with the same with and height but about 5mm deeper mounting. The bottom does have that one part that is farther down by about 2mm. The speed seems slower than the HXT, that may be the trade off for more torque. The Servo Control horn is DIFFERENT from the HXT 900.
A perfect servo in an application that needs more power while sacrificing less speed and more weight than a hxt 900
