I bought 6 of these for a Hexa. I have snapped the shafts of 2 so far with less than perfect (not very hard at all) landings. The weird thing is the motor that has snapped hasn't been the one that clipped the dirt.
your landings could have pushed the shaft upwards causing the motor shaft to dis-allign... even if you land softly but if the hex lands on the shafts you could have problems with your hexa setup all together... while you land, the shaft shouldnt have any contact with the ground anyway...
Yes it does, that is where you mount this motor on your frame, you'll need to buy the prop drive accessory pack in able for you to attach the propellers.
Would this be a good motor for a bixler 2? And if so what esc / prop config should I use. I already have some 2200 mAh batteries, and plane to fly with FPV equipment. I'll have a cyclops osd on-board so need to be able to carry some weight.
Yes, you can use this one. I am using this on my bixler2. About mounting on bixler, I use small cnc part bixler adapter. It is Aluminium motor adapter, better than the stock plastic one. It also has three mount position for different size of propeller. I use turnigy trust 45A esc, 7x4 propellor.
Changed my mind now using ntm 1800kv instead as has a bit of extra power for heavy fpv load. Just reverse plastic motor mount and fits fine, shouldn't need the cnc mount unless you're running a massive motor. I'm using HK blue series 60A esc, stock 7x5e prop and ntm 1800 kv motor.
i bought 4 of these for a 680HK quadframe.what would be the best prop size for the most stable flight? (concert recording).any help would be much apriciated.
Kinda funny, they say "Note: An accessory pack is available for this motor. Please see the related items below." But there is nothing in the related items
Just bought two 28 size motors and you are right, they have the 35 and 42 accessory pack but no 28 in Australia

This is a excellent motor for my bixler2. I am using small cnc motor mount. The motor is perfect balanced. I matched this with turnigy trust 45A speed control. It drive 7x4 propellor.
