Does anybody else have really bad experience with these motors? The windings on mine have come off very easily, the wires have broken connecting to the winding wire i mean. This has happened 3 times and HK won't replace them!?

I'm bench testing 3 of these motors and will have the results on RCG in the motor forum shortly. When I unwind them I make notes about such items as you mentioned. But knowing what I know about small motors the wires are delicate and have to be handeled gently (disclaimer). Although I have run across motors, that I have autopsied and there is a concern with how the wires are routed/unsupported that can cause your problem. Hard to say with out seeing it. I just soldered the bullets to the motor leads, and I was thinking that is a small wire!(it's a small motor) Keep in mind it's very easy to rewind one of these and it will be better than can be bought. That's why I buy these, they are a super deal for the price of the parts.

what is better prop for this 4.5x3 or 5x3? 7.4v, on a Li'l stick appx. 150g 90sq. in.

I use a 7x3 on 2S and it is great! I would go with the 5x3 if that is all you have...

Will this motor work on MJX F45?
 chanyote66 61 points
NO, you will need a larger motor.

wILL THIS MOTOR WORK IN A CERMARK DRAGONFLY MICRO SAILPLANE 8OZ READY TO FLY WITH 2 CELLS AND A 6 BY 3 FOLDING PROP OR WOULD THE c10 BE Q BETTER CHOICE? THANKS.
 chanyote66 61 points
you would be on the edge of both motors. they may work but a slightly larger motor would be better, especially with the added weight of a folding prop.

that ESC will work fine- for example, I'm using a Turnigy Plush 6A with it. Even over-propped on the motor, the 6A ESC just gets a little warm.

How is the "O" ring used?

Can you recommend a prop spinner for the above? I'm using a 5x3 prop with a 4 mm mounting hole.

can i run this motor on 460 mah 3s battery thanks......Randy

 ElectronJunky 2 points
With small low pitch prop, cool weather, and throttle management......probably. Use your ammeter, check the temp, ground test etc...

Couldn't ask for anything better that what this is. Mine came with 4 lugs instead of the illustration which shows 3. I installed a 5x5e prop and it pulls 3.5 to 4 amps while using a 460mah Turnigy nano-tech 2 cell. I have it on a scratch built 4.5 oz. foamy and am happy with it.

Running this on 3s and 5x3gws on the HK Mini Stick.
Turns 15k rpm while drawing less than 5a.
Smoother and cooler running (on 3s) than the Eflight 180s.
a high quality piece for the money.. Very satisfied

This little motor ROCKS! The price can't be beat. And the qulity is great.
Mine came with 4 lugs on the mount. Mine came as a darker RED than the purple shown, and a BLACK ring instead of blue like most Turnigy's. Thats just fine, I actually like the color changes, and ofcourse they do not affect performance.
I am expecting great performance on my scratch build F3P 100g indoor plane. This should be jus the right amount of power for such a small weight.

I will still give this motor 5 stars. Although on my finished scratch build F3P AUW of 98 grams, I could not even sustain a hover. I tried a 5x3 prop, and a 7x3 prop, and neither one gave enough power to hover on a 2s.
Mabe I can rewind it to get better performance, but I must say I did not even come close to getting the 150 grams of thrust that this motor is rated on a 2s.
