hi, would this servo work in a traxxas slash 2wd with a 3s lipo. thanks

Hi can you get a replacement gear set for this servo
 Patrick 68 points
There is no listing for any parts for this servo. I could only find replacement gear sets for some of the bluebird servos.

hi will this be any fast for an 8 scale buggy thanks.
 Bsd Racing 154 points
Throttle and steering and will a 2s 2000 mah be enough for a couple of hours. Thanks
 Senator315 614 points
Yes they are fast and strong. I used one for steering in my RC8e without issue. 2000mAh is pretty big. I get a full race day from 1600mAh.
 jjhendo 2 points
definitely a good strong servo and cheaper than any stock RTR servo. leaves them all for dead!

Certainly sounds digital, will see how it performs *-)

OK after some track time this servo is a beast, very happy with it indeed and sticks with most my high end servos =D

so can i use my 11.1v lipos with this servo?
 H-KING_SCOTT 5237 points
No, 7.4v max
 jason 7 points
i am using this sero in my hpi savage x converted to brushless and i am running two 3s (11.1v) and its fine as the bec regulates the voltage to the servo down to 5 or 6v. so yes its fine. good servo too!
 Josh 13 points
yeah ll.i volts is a bit much they work really well at 6v 1600mah hump pack in a rc car which can max a bit higher voltage with a fresh charge but they stay strong untill the battery is dead
 Josh 13 points
yes you can..
ONLY if you connect through rx (reciever)
because rx regulates the voltage to servo max input.. if you are worried you can always get a 7.2v resistor
 jjhendo 2 points
don't hook this direct up to 11.1v you will cook it. always go through your esc/bec
tigerbomb8  17 points - 2/23/2012

does this have metal gears
 jason 7 points
yes it does, very strong servo and has a alloy heatsink as part of the casing too!
 Josh 13 points
yes, the 'MG/BB' means metal gears and ball bearings,
all the gears inside are metal, and you can also get replacements,
hpe this helps :)
 papapeter 5 points
Ah Josh - did you actually look? First gear off the motor pinion is plastic - made from recycled garbage bags and lasts abput as long!

How many teeth/splines on the output shaft?
 Kym 7 points
Futaba 25t spline I'd suggest

brought two of these servos. both are very noisey even when not being used. they centre perfectly and are very quick and strong. I still happy with the performance of them despite the noise.

It is on my truggy and lasted a few races, still going strong. It works as good as any other high end servo and has outlasted a few other well known brand servos i have had in the past. Dont hesitate buy and save cash for other things like beer :)

For the price these servos are great, I compare this servo with my Hitec HS 7955TG servo and I must say speed is much the same and the HK servo is stronger, sounds digital / coreless to and is not that noisy for a digi servo.. I did not expected anything flash from this servo and was sceptical about it being coreless digital, well I was wrong!!! It has out shined even the Blue Bird servos I have purchased from HK. Well done HK this servo is a winner and also looks the goods in my Jammin X1-CR Buggy, all the boys at the track can't believe how a $20 servo like this does as good as their $100 servos, ABSOLUTE BARGAIN!!! Tested after several litres of hard track time for those who doubt durability..

Ive bought too of these and both only lasted one or two 2200 4s packs in my scx10 basher. I admit that I am hard on her on the rocks but its not like its a super heavy rig or anything. Might be good for a track car or true scaler, but useless in a rock crawler or any hard work. The first one just died and the second, the motor just started going flat out. I opened it up and there metal gears with the main gear being plastic and had stripped itself to bits. I dont recommend this product.
